Born near Columbia, Kentucky, Wolford attended the common schools. He studied law. He was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Liberty, Kentucky. He served as member of the State House of Representatives in 1847, 1848, 1865, and 1866. He was a celebrated cavalry officer, nationally known and deeply respected by the soldiers who served under him, and rival of Confederate Raider John Hunt Morgan. Yet today, only a few scholars know the story of Union Colonel Frank Wolford, Commander of the 1st Kentucky Calvary, a man who nearly changed the face of the country because of a policy dispute with President Abraham Lincoln. Family Tree Nuts is a history and genealogical service,” Their YouTube about section reads. “We produce videos at historic locations, and gravesites or other relevant locations for our client’s ancestors. We visited the grave of Colonel Frank Wolford, of the Union Army, during the Civil War. Colonel Wofford spent most of his time defending strategic locations, from the raids of Confederate General John Hunt Morgan’s men. Close to the end of he war, he was relived of his command, on more than one occasion, for his bad-mouthing of President Lincoln, for his use of black troops in the army. “We are passionate to document obscurely known historical locations, making them known to all. Often bringing them back to life for all the ages.”Carson has built up a team around the country to document small town history, he said. The YouTube page was started in 2019, after Carson’s brother, a cinematographer, suggested he branch out into video. He has videographers in multiple states, and he plans to expand.
